Palermitan baritone Giuseppe Toia studied with Simone Alaimo and Vittoria
Mazzoni, and took part in the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda” 2023 in
Pesaro under Maestro Ernesto Palacio, making his debut as Don Profondo in
Il viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Opera Festival. A winner and
finalist of several international opera competitions, he made his debut at
a very young age as Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia and has
since performed leading roles in major Italian theaters: Malatesta in Don
Pasquale in Catania, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor in Bari,
Marcello in La bohème in Palermo, Escamillo in Carmen for
As.Li.Co., Alessio in La sonnambula in Ancona, and Figaro in
various productions. In 2024, he performed as Don Magnifico in La
Cenerentola in Italy and Peru, Schaunard in Lima, Eutichio in I
falsi monetari in Fano, and Procolo in Le Convenienze ed
inconvenienze teatrali in Wexford. In 2025, he appeared as Dandini
in Rossini Cards in Palermo and Masetto in Don Giovanni in
Pistoia.
